REFERENCE:
Public Review Process - Neighbourhood Pubs (Interim Policy)

PURPOSE:
To provide a process to encourage Community input in the review of Class "D" and "F" liquor licence applications.

EXTRACT OF RESOLUTION:
“THAT Council hereby establish an interim policy to solicit public input for class "D" and "F" liquor license applications.

PROCESS:

1. Public Information Meeting shall be held by the applicant to provide the public with details on their proposal and to address any concerns that may be raised.

2. Advertisement of the Public Information Meeting shall be in accordance to Sections 890 and 892 of the Local Government Act.

3. A separate mail survey shall be conducted by the applicant and encompass a 200 metre radius from the proposed licensed establishment.

4. The Terms of Reference for the survey letter and all supporting materials to be approved by staff.

5. All mail surveys shall be returned to the Planning Department and a summary of the results be forwarded to Council.

6. All costs associated with the holding of a Public Information Meeting and mail survey shall be borne by the applicants.

7. Applicants are required to pay a $1000.00 processing fee to the City.
