It is Revelstoke City Council’s intention to provide standards to
landlords for maintenance and upkeep of rental property used for
residential purposes. Some examples of rental properties are mobile
homes, houses, apartments, caretaker units, cabins, and secondary
suites.
The City of Revelstoke
Rental Property Maintenance Bylaw No. 1825 received two readings by
Revelstoke City Council on April 10, 2006. A copy of the proposed Bylaw
may be found on the City’s website here
or by viewing it in the Planning Department at Revelstoke City Hall, 216
Mackenzie Avenue.
The proposed Bylaw
will require landlords to maintain their rental building(s) to a minimum
standard of health and safety. This Bylaw is not intended to be used as
a means of resolving landlord – tenant disputes. For further information
on the Bylaw, please contact: Tim Luini, Building Inspector/Bylaw
Enforcement Officer, by e-mail at
tluini@cityofrevelstoke.com
or by telephone at 250-837-3637.
The City requests
public input on this bylaw before proceeding further. You may provide
written comments by mailing them to the attention of Teresa LeRose,
Deputy Director of Corporate Administration, City of Revelstoke, Box
170, Revelstoke, BC V0E 2S0, or by faxing to 250-837-4930 or by e-mail
to
