EXTRACT OF RESOLUTION:
"THAT Council hereby establish a policy whereby all encroachments on
City sidewalks must fulfil the following requirements:
- Proof of minimum
$2,000,000 public liability insurance shall be required with the City
named as co-insured (copy of policy to City). Applicant shall ensure
liability is adequate.
- All
encroachments shall require an Encroachment Agreement obtained from
Building/Bylaw Department.
- All
encroachments to be weighted sufficiently to prevent wind uplift.
- Shall be located
only on the sidewalk abutting business lot frontage. Location to
be approved by City Bylaw Enforcement Department.
- Sizes to conform
to following:
- Tables - 24" x
30" or 42" diameter to a maximum of 4 per business
- Sandwich Board
Signage - maximum 24" w x 36" h, and limited to one sandwich board
sign per business frontage
- Display Racks
- 2' x 6' or 40" x 40"
- Encroachment
shall not be placed on the normal travel portion of sidewalk and must
always allow a minimum 5' travel width.
- Encroachment
shall not interfere with street parking.
- Will only be
allowed during business hours.
- Annual permit
fee of $25. Proof of public liability insurance will be required at
the time of permit and renewal.
