Each property in the City has a legal
zoning classification that specifies the types of activities, uses and
buildings allowed on the property. This zoning classification or district, also
specifies building height, setbacks, and parking requirements, etc. These
provisions differ according to which residential, commercial, industrial
or other zone your property is located in. |
Before any development can
take place on a property, you should first check the zoning regulations
pertaining to the subject property. If the proposed development is not
permitted, you may apply to have the zoning district, or provisions
of the zone, amended. Council must approve the zoning amendment prior to
the development construction taking place.
