Building permits are
required whenever you wish to:
- Construct a new
home
- Constructing a new
accessory building or structure, including a retaining wall over 4 feet
in height
- Repair, renovate
or add to an existing building
- Remove, relocate,
alter or construct interior walls
- Complete a
previously unfinished area in an existing building
- Construct, cover
or enclose a porch or sun deck
- Construct a
swimming pool
- Demolish or
relocate a building

Building Permits are NOT required for
non-structural minor modifications such as:
- Cupboards
- Painting
- Roof Repairs or
re-roofing
- Exterior finish
repair or replacement, i.e.: stucco or siding
- Landscaping,
sidewalks, fences
Applications for a building permit are
to be made at the Planning, Building and Bylaw Enforcement Department. The applicant
must provide two sets of drawings.
