Advanced Aquatic Training
Bronze Medallion
The Bronze Medallion award teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the three components of water rescue education; judgment, skill and fitness. rescuers learn tows and carries, and defense and released methods in preparation for the challenging rescues of increased risk, involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Participants also develop stroke effiency and endurance in timed swim.
Pre requisite: Bronze Star or 13 years of age
Dates: Sundays, January 15th - February 12th
Time: 2:00pm - 7:30pm

Bronze Cross

The Bronze Cross award is designed forlifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs including National Lifeguard (NL) and Instructor certification.
Pre requisite: Sundays, February 19th -  March 19th
Time: 2:00pm - 7:30pm
Cost: $155* Manual is required from Bronze Medallion

Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
Learn how to teach and evaluate the Lifesaving taught teaching methodology, course planning, class management, safety supervision and the principle of evaluation. the LSI certification is worth one grade 11 High School credit.
Pre requisite: Bronze Cross, 16 years old
Dates: Monday - Wednesday, March 20th - 22nd
Time: 9:00am - 6:00pm

Learn what it takes to be a lifeguard! This fun spring break camp combines swimming, rescue skills, first aid and lifesaving sport into two awesome weeks!
Pre requisite: Ages 8-12, ability to swim 75m

National Lifeguard Program
Recognized as the standard measure of lifeguarding performance in Canada, NL education is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard.
Pre- requisite: Bronze Cross proof of certification, Standard First Aid/ CPR C proof of certification (current within the last 2 years) current award recommended. Must be the age 16 by the last day of class.
Date: Saturdays & Sundays
Time: 10:00am-6:30pm
Cost: $435.00

Red Cross water Safety Instructor
The Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Course
Prepares candidates to introduce and develop fitness activities, skills and water safety, and swimming skills in the Red Cross Swim Preschool, Red Cross Swim @ camp, Red Cross Swim for Adults & Teens, and Red Cross Swim Adapted Programs.
Pre requisites: Swim Kids 10 swimming ability, 15 years old by the last day of classroom/ pool AND Standard First Aid OR Bronze Cross.

WSI skills Evaluation (Includes manual and PIN for WSI Online)
Date: Monday, March 27th
Time: 9:00am - 1:00pm

First Aid Programs
Standard First Aid
Comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid, CPR and AED use! Whether you need training  for employment or simply want to be prepared to respond to life-threatening emergencies, this course will give you the skills and knowledge to act with confidence. Learn to recognize and trat head and spinal, soft-tissue, facial, abdominal, chest, bone and joint injuries, burns and other common medical emergencies.

Standard First Aid/ CPR-Recertification
Recertify your Standard First Aid with CPR-C/ AED with this 8 hour course.
Pre-requisite: Previous Standard First Aid certification. If it is more than five years from date of issue of previous certification, it is strongly recommended you re-take a full Standard First Aid course.

Cost: $75

CPR Level 'C'
Knowing how to activate EMS, perform CPR, and use an AED are critical lifesaving skills that everyone should have. Lifesaving Society recommends annual re-training to maintain CPR skills. re-certify your CPR-C/ AED includes adult, child and infant (including 2-rescuer CPR) resuscitation skills and is the most comprehensive CPR training program for trained responders.

CPR Level 'C' Recertification

Emergency Child Care First Aid
Designed for those working in the child care industry program length and content meets the requirements for Child Care workers as outlined by the Ministry of Health. Certification is valid for 3 years and includes CPR-B/AED.

Synchronized Swimming

A play-based water orientated program, that helps develop basic skills and sychro skills in a creative and imaginative atmosphere.

Recreational & Competitive Star Program
Required Equipment: Bathing suit, goggles, swim cap, nose clips

Rec/ Pre-competitive ( fall program October 14th - December 23rd) is for swimmers eager to learn the sport of synchronized swimming. This development skills program offers instruction starting with basic skills and moving more advanced techniques as swimmers progress through the levels. Swimmers will learn all fundamental skills, basic figures and their parts, and be introduced to sequences. This will prepare swimmers to enter the competitive program.

Fridays: 3:30pm-4:00pm
Cost: $120 for 10 sessions
Ages: 7-13
Prerequisites: Ability to swim 25m (length of pool), tread water and be comfortable going under water & in deep end.

Competitive for swimmers who want to take their skills and experience tot he next level. This program has a year end Fun Meet in Kelowna with the possibility of 2-3 provincial meets.

Full Program: October 14th- March 17th. (No classes November 11th) Possibility of running into April provincials with one fundraising requirement.
Fridays: 4:00pm-5:30pm (some dry time)
Cost: $390 for 20 sessions
