Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) Economic Opportunity Fund
(EOF)
|
| The EOF was created by the CSRD as a means of compensating for the loss of economic opportunities on those lands affected by the dams and reservoirs and the resultant economic impacts within Rural Area B and the City of Revelstoke. The annual funding allotment for Rural Area B and the City of Revelstoke is funded from a Grant in lieu of taxes from B.C. Hydro in the amount of $99,303.
The EOF is to provide funding assistance for projects deemed by the City of Revelstoke and the Regional Director for Area B, and ratified by the corporate Board of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), to be worthy of support in an effort to stimulate economic development within the City and rural areas. Criteria for accessing the EOF will be based on the demonstrable and enduring benefit to the economy of the affected communities at large. The EOF is designed to stimulate economic generators, transportation facilities and infrastructure development supportable jointly by the City of Revelstoke and Rural Area B Director, and approved by the CSRD Board. The EOF shall not be used as grant-in-aid funding.
Applications for funding assistance from the EOF
are to be submitted jointly to CSRD Area "B" Director and the Mayor of
the City Of Revelstoke.
