Capital Expenditures - Report to Council - Revelstoke's Financial Performance 2001

This section provides information on General Fund capital spending and how it is funded. The information is the average for 1995-99 and the funding source indicates where the money came from to do the project. It does not include debt repayments for projects from previous years.

Capital Expenditure Trends

The following chart shows the average general capital expenditures over the five year period 1995-99. It does not include water and sewer capital expenditures which are shown separately later in this report.

Revelstoke maintains its position as the lowest in capital expenditures per capita of all other members of the comparison group and about half of the average of All Municipalities.

Capital Financing

It can be seen from the following chart that Revelstoke has preferred to finance its capital projects from its own funds and other grant funding etc. wherever available.
