CITY OF REVELSTOKE

BYLAW No. 1847

Being a Bylaw to Amend Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984
___________________________________________________________________

WHEREAS the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia, deem it necessary to amend the City of Revelstoke Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984 to provide an amendment to permitted uses in all Zoning districts and the C1-Central Business District, and provide for definitions.

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:

1. THAT Section 4 be amended to include the following:

4.7.1 Utilities

Minor utilities shall be permitted in all Zoning districts.


2. THAT Section 8.1.1 be amended to include the following:

3. THAT Section 8.1.12 be added as follows:

8.1.12 Special Regulations

(1) Not withstanding “Section 8.1.1 Uses Permitted”, washrooms and storage buildings are an additional permitted use on land, the legal description which is, Lot 20 Block 16 Section 34 TWP 23 R2 W6M Kootenay District Plan 636, 109 Mackenzie Avenue.


4. THAT Schedule B – Definitions be amended to include the following:

UTILITIES, MINOR means water, sewage, storm water, electrical, or solid waste disposal systems and their appurtenances, which are likely to have a minor impact only on the environment or adjacent land uses by virtue of their appearance, noise, size, traffic generation or operational characteristics. These include but are not limited to telephone exchanges, electrical kiosks, generators, minor pump stations, reservoirs, lift station buildings, pressure reducing stations, and pump houses.

UTILITIES, MAJOR means water, sewage, storm water, electrical or solid waste disposal systems and their appurtenances, which are likely to have a greater impact on the environment or adjacent land uses than minor utilities. These include but are not limited to land fills, sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants, major pump houses, water towers or tanks, sewage lagoons, snow dumping sites, garbage transfer and compacting stations, power terminal and distributing stations, power generating stations, cooling plants, district heating plants, incinerators and waste recycling plants.


5. THAT this Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the “City of Revelstoke Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1847”.

6. THAT this Bylaw shall take affect upon the date of its adoption by City Council.
