CITY OF REVELSTOKE
BYLAW No. 1666
Being a Bylaw to Amend Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984.
WHEREAS the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia, deem it necessary to amend the City of Revelstoke Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984 to provide for amendments to the permitted uses for Industrial Zones contained within this Bylaw;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia in open meeting assembled enacts as follows:
1. THAT Schedule B be amended to include the following definition:
CARETAKER'S RESIDENCE means a mobile dwelling unit or a suite constructed within the principle building, used to accommodate a caretaker or watchperson.
2. THAT Section 9.1.1 be amended to include (9) Caretaker's residence - accessory to or in conjunction with a Principal Use subject to:
(a) That a caretaker’s dwelling shall conform to CSA Z-240 Mobile Homes or A-277 Factory Built Homes or as amended;
(b) That any suite within a principle building be restricted to a maximum size of 70 sq. m. (755.4 sq ft).
3. THAT Section 5.18 be deleted in its entirety.
4. THAT Section 9.1.5 be deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:
9.1.5 Height of Buildings
(a) The height of a building or structure shall not exceed 12 meters (39.4 ft).
(b) The height of a caretaker's residence shall not exceed 6 meters (19.7 ft).
5. THAT Section 9.1.6 be amended by adding the following:
(4) A caretaker’s residence shall conform to setback provisions of the R2 Urban Residential District.
6. THAT the general terms and conditions of this Bylaw have been advertised as required by Section 893 (2) of the Local Government Act.
7. THAT a Public Hearing was held pursuant to Sections 890 and 892 of the Local Government Act.
8. THAT this Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the "City of Revelstoke Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1666, 2002".
9. THAT this Bylaw shall take effect upon the date of it's adoption by Council.
