CITY OF REVELSTOKE
BYLAW No. 1911

A bylaw to establish a fire protection and assistance response service outside the municipal boundaries and to authorize a contract with Parks Canada for the provision of fire protection and assistance response to the residential compound located in Mt. Revelstoke National Park

WHEREAS the Council of the City of Revelstoke has been requested by Parks Canada to provide fire protection and assistance response to its residential compound located at 1498 Meadows in the Sky Parkway outside the municipal boundaries;
AND WHEREAS the Board of Directors of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District has, by resolution of the Board dated May 15, 2008, consented to the establishment of the service contemplated by this bylaw;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
1. THAT the City of Revelstoke establishes a fire protection and assistance response service in that portion of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District comprising the Parks Canada Residential Compound located at 1498 Meadows in the Sky Parkway, Mt. Revelstoke National Park.
2. THAT the City of Revelstoke may enter into a contract with Parks Canada for the provision of fire protection and assistance response to the property referred to in Section 1 and the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer are authorized to execute and deliver the Fire Protection Contract on behalf of the City and any notices and other documents contemplated by it.
3. THAT this Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the "Parks Canada Residential Compound Fire Protection and Assistance Response Bylaw No. 1911.”
