A Bylaw to Permit the City of Revelstoke Fire Department to Respond Outside the City Boundaries to Motor Vehicle Incidents Resulting in Fires ______________________________________________________________________
WHEREAS the Council of the City of Revelstoke deem it a public service to respond outside the City boundaries to motor vehicle incidents, i.e. accidents resulting in fires endangering persons and property;
AND WHEREAS Section 517 (1)(a)(ii) of the Municipal Act permits a Fire Department to provide assistance in response to other classes of circumstances specified in a bylaw that may cause harm to persons or property;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
1. That the City of Revelstoke Fire Department is hereby permitted to respond outside the City boundaries to motor vehicle incidents i.e. accidents resulting in fires endangering persons and property.
This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the "City of Revelstoke Fire Department Response Authorization Bylaw #1581, 1998".
This Bylaw shall come into effect upon the date of its' adoption.
