A Bylaw To Authorize The Entering Into Of A Lease of Real Property For A Period Of Five Years Or Less

WHEREAS pursuant to Sections 610(1)(c) and 610(3)(b) of the Municipal Act, Council may lease property that is owned or held by the Municipality for a term of 5 years or less without the assent of the electors.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Revelstoke, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
1. The City of Revelstoke is hereby authorized and empowered to enter into a lease with the Selkirk Saddle Club for that parcel of land legally described as follows:
Parcel "A" (Reference Plan 7210) and Parcel "A"
Reference Plan 6828) of Section 23 and Lot "A" of
Section 26, Plan 6032, and that part of Legal
Subdivision 4 of Section 26 which lies to the South
of the right bank of the Illecillewaet River, all
in Township 23, Range 2, West of the 6th Meridian,
Kootenay District;
2. The Selkirk Saddle Club shall pay to the City of Revelstoke the sum of $250.00 per year, plus GST for a period of three years commencing February 15, 1998 and terminating on February 14, 2001.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to sign and seal any and all instruments respecting said lands and the leasing thereof.
4. This Bylaw shall come into force and effect upon the date of its adoption.
5. This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the "City of Revelstoke Selkirk Saddle Club Lease Bylaw #1579, 1998".
