SUB-AREAS AND PLAN MAP DESIGNATION SECTION 2 2.1 The City has been divided into ten sub-areas for the purposes of this Plan. These are shown on Schedule B - Sub-Area Map, and include: - Westside Road
- Kelly Flat/Dalles
- Columbia Park
- Highway Corridor
- Clearview Heights
- Northeast Revelstoke
- Central Revelstoke
- South Revelstoke
- Arrow Heights
- Airport
Throughout this Plan reference is made to these sub-areas in background discussions and in objectives and policies pertaining to land uses and forms of development.
2.2 The future use and development of land within the City of Revelstoke shall be consistent with the overall pattern of land use depicted on Schedule C - Land Use Map, based on the following land use designations: - Rural Residential;
- Residential;
- Central Business District Commercial;
- Highway Commercial;
- Service Commercial;
- Neighbourhood Commercial;
- Light Industrial;
- Heavy Industrial;
- Airport Industrial;
- Public and Institutional;
- Parks and Trails;
- Future Park;
- Sand and Gravel;
- Agricultural;
- Reservoir Drawdown;
- Steep/Undeveloped;
- Urban Reserve.
The general types of uses encouraged in each land use designation are explained in subsequent sections of this bylaw.
2.3 Council recognizes that some existing land uses do not conform to the designations shown on Schedule C - Land Use Map. The intent of Council is not to change the zoning of this land in the immediate future but to illustrate the preferred pattern of land use as redevelopment occurs while this Official Community Plan is in force. |
