URBAN RESERVE SECTION 19
Background
19.1 Within the City of Revelstoke there are vacant lands which hold potential for some form of urban development yet do not easily fit within one particular land use designation. Some of these lands are surrounded by some combination of residential, commercial and/or industrial use. Others are located in largely undeveloped areas. Infrastructure is available to serve some of these lands. Others are located some distance from community water and sanitary sewer systems. The unifying characteristic of these lands is that the community views them as potential sites for future urban uses.
Objective
19.2 It is Council's objective to designate lands which have potential for urban development yet remain in transition as urban reserve.
Policies
19.3 It is Council's policy to designate areas as Urban Reserve as shown on Schedule C - Land Use Map.
19.4 It is Council's policy to consider future development of these lands in the context of the following factors: - suitability of site for intended use
- compatibility of intended use with adjacent land uses
- infrastructure availability
- environmental considerations
- economic considerations
- other factors considered by Council to be relevant
