CITY OF REVELSTOKE
BYLAW No. 1500
Being a Bylaw to authorize the demolition of a prohibited canopy addition to an existing building.
The Council of the City of Revelstoke, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
1. The owner of the principal building located at 1300 Douglas Street, on property legally described as Lots 5 and 6, Block 17, Plan 9504, Section 34, Township 23, Range 2, Meridian 6, Kootenay Land District, which building is described in Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of this Bylaw, is ordered to remove the canopy addition with the dimensions of approximately 1.8 meters by 4.6 meters, attached to the rear (lane side) of the building.
2. In the event that the owner does not take the action specified in Paragraph 1 of this Bylaw by December 31, 1994, the City by its own forces or those of a contractor engaged by the City may enter on the property described above and demolish and remove that portion of the building referred to in Paragraph 1.
3. In the event that the City is required to take action under Paragraph 2 of this Bylaw, the City may recover the expense from the owner, together with costs and interest at the rate prescribed under Section 11(3) of the Taxation Act, in the same manner as Municipal taxes.
4. This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as "City of Revelstoke Building Demolition Bylaw No. 1500, 1994."
5. This Bylaw shall come into full force and effect upon its' adoption.
