Being a By-Law to Prohibit a Nuisance
__________________________________________________________________________
WHEREAS Council may by By-Law prevent or prohibit nuisances;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the City of Revelstoke deems it necessary to prohibit social escort services;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
l. In this By-Law
(a) "SOCIAL ESCORT" means every person, who for a fee or other form
of payment, escorts or accompanies another person, but does not
mean a person providing assitance to another person because of
the latter's age or handicap;
(b) "SOCIAL ESCORT SERVICE" means every person who carries on the
business of providing or offering to provide the services or the
names of persons to act as Social Escorts for other persons.
2. Social Escort Services are prohibited.
3. This By-Law shall be cited for all purposes as the "City of Revelstoke
Nuisance By-Law #l427, l99l."
