CITY OF REVELSTOKE

A By-Law for the purpose of adopting the Annual Budget and Rates By-Law for the year 1988

WHEREAS in accordance with the provisions of Section 264 and 273 of the
Municipal Act, Council is required, by By-Law to adopt the Annual Budget
estimates of the Municipality on or before the fifteenth day of May of
each year.
AND WHEREAS a Levy shall be imposed on all taxable land and improvements within the City of Revelstoke, according to the assessed value thereof, at a rate to provide the total of the amount to be raised by taxation.
AND WHEREAS the Supplementary Letters Patent empower Council to divide
the Municipality into two taxation districts in order to reduce the impact of any taxation increase within that area of the Municipality not within the Corporation of the City of Revelstoke under the former Letters Patent. Therefore, the two taxation districts shall be known as: Jurisdiction 228 former Corporation of the City of Revelstoke and Jurisdiction 230 former area not within the Corporation of the City of Revelstoke as per By-Law #l23l, l982.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Revelstoke in open meeting assembled enacts as follows:
l. Schedule "A" attached hereto, providing for a gross expenditure of
$8,363,7l0 and made part of this By-Law is hereby adopted and is
the Annual Budget of the City of Revelstoke for the year ending
December 3l, l988.
2. The following rates are hereby imposed and levied for the year l988
as shown in Schedule "B" attached hereto.
(a) For all lawful general purposes of the Municipality on the
value of land and improvements taxable for general municipal
purposes, rates appearing in Column "A" of the
Schedule attached hereto and forming a part hereof.
(b) For debt purposes on the value of land and improvements
taxable for general municipal purposes, rates appearing in
Column "B" of the Schedule attached hereto and
forming a part hereof.
(c) For hospital purposes on the value of land and improvements
taxable for Regional Hospital District purposes, rates
appearing in Column "C" of the Schedule attached hereto and
forming a part hereof.
(d) For purposes of the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District on
the value of land and improvements taxable for Regional Hospital District purposes, rates appearing in Column "D"
of the Schedule attached hereto and forming a part hereof.
3. The minimum amount of taxation upon a parcel of real property shall
be One Dollar ($l.00).

4. This By-Law may be cited for all purposes as "The City of Revelstoke
Annual Budget and Tax Rates By-Law #l342, l988.
