CITY OF REVELSTOKE

A By-Law to authorize the expenditure of monies received from the sale of real properties for the purpose of purchasing land for Municipal purposes.

WHEREAS in compliance with the provisions of Subsection (l) of Section 537 of the Municipal Act, being Chapter 290 of the Revised Statutes of British Columbia, l979, as amended, the Council of the City of Revelstoke has set aside all monies received from the sale of real properties and the total of such receipts and interest earned thereon at credit of the sale of City owned Land Reserve Accounts on the thirty-first day of March, l988 is $25l,7l2.66.
AND WHEREAS Clause (a) of Subsection (l) of Section 378 of the Municipal Act authorized the establishing by Council By-Law of a reserve fund or funds for expenditures for or in respect of capital projects and any land, machinery or equipment necessary therefore, including the extension or renewal of existing capital works;
AND WHEREAS Clause (4) of Section 378 of the Municipal Act provides that Council may, by By-Law adopt by an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of all members thereof, provide for the expenditure of any monies set aside under the said Section 378 and any interest earned thereon.
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to use the sum of $l30,000.00 for the purpose of:
A. Purchase of lands for Municipal purposes $l30,000.00

NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the City of Revelstoke, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
l. That the Municipal Council of the City of Revelstoke is hereby authorized to
use and expend the sum of $l30,000.00 being a part of the amount received from the sale of real properties and interest thereon, and set aside under
the provisions of Section 537 of the Municipal Act, for the purpose of:
A. Purchase of lands for Municipal purposes $l30,000.00
2. This By-Law may be cited for all purposes as the "City of Revelstoke Land
Purchase for Municipal Purposes By-Law #l337, l988."
