CITY OF REVELSTOKE
BY-LAW NO. 1306, l985

Being a By-Law to Purchase the Assets of Mt. MacKenzie Alpine Sports Society and the Leasing and Operation of the said Society.

WHEREAS the City of Revelstoke may, under Section 679 (l)(a) of the Municipal Act by By-Law acquire and hold property in the Municipality for pleasure, recreation or community uses of the public and may lease or rent property so acquired and owned or held by the Municipality;
AND WHEREAS the City of Revelstoke may, under Section 68l of the Municipal Act acquire and hold property outside the Municipality for any purpose mentioned in Section 679 (l)(a), of the Municipal Act;
AND WHEREAS the Council has deemed it in the public interest to acquire the property referred to in the attached agreement for the purpose of providing a facility for skiing and to enter into the lease attached hereto for the purpose of providing management for the ski facility;
AND WHEREAS the Council may under Section 322 of the Municipal Act acquire real property and related personal property for the purposes aforesaid, and where the lease and agreement is for ten years or less, without the assent of the electors;
NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the City of Revelstoke in open meeting assembled enacts as follows:
l. The City of Revelstoke is hereby authorized to enter into the Agreement
of Purchase and Sale and the lease attached hereto for the purposes
aforesaid.
2. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to sign the Agreement of Purchase
and Sale and the Lease, and to affix the City's seal thereto as the act
and deed of the City.
3. This By-Law may be cited for all purposes as "City of Revelstoke and Mt.
MacKenzie Alpine Sports Society Purchase and Lease By-Law No. l306, l985."
