MINUTES OF A SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS TUESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2006,
COMMENCING AT 3:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER:

Acting Mayor Singh called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.


ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA:

Moved by Councillor Richardson, seconded by Councillor Frew that the Agenda be adopted as presented.
CARRIED


BUSINESS ITEMS:

1. Award Contract for “WWTP Upgrade – Stage I, Desludging and Dewatering Lagoon #2”

Moved by Councillor Johnston, seconded by Councillor Gibbs that Council authorizes the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to sign the contract awarding the “WWTP Upgrade – Stage I, Desludging and Dewatering Lagoon #2” to American Process Group (Canada) in the amount of $198,936.20 excluding tax.

2. Award Contract for “WWTP Upgrade – Stage I, New Liner in Lagoon #2”

Moved by Councillor Johnston, seconded by Councillor Richardson that Council authorizes the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to sign the contract awarding the “WWTP Upgrade – Stage I, New Liner in Lagoon #2” to Primary Systems Inc. in the amount of $304,431.00 excluding tax which represents the only complete quote as well as the Lowest Bid Price.

OTHER BUSINESS:

1. BC Ambassador Pageant

Councillor Gibbs reported that Johanna Olson had attended the BC Ambassador Pageant in Merritt and was crowned as one of three BC Ambassadors.
