  Mayor's Report
April 5, 2002

Now that the snow is finally disappearing everyone is turning their minds to spring cleaning and clean-up. Remember that burning of household trash is prohibited and that many items such as paint, solvents, tires, old batteries, etc. require special disposal. The Regional District will be offering “free” days at the landfill on April 27th & 28th for yard waste and May 4th & 5th for metals. Please take advantage of the program and dispose of refuse in an environmentally sound way.

On Thursday, Council had a meeting with the principals of the company which is developing the ski hill Master Plan. The Master Plan is a necessary step in the ski hill development and the City is anxious to see it proceed. It is expected that the plan will take about one year to complete to the approval stage.

We are continuing to work towards a plan to retain some court services here in Revelstoke and I will update you on our progress as there are definite developments to report.
