During the past week I have continued to spend time on some “provincial”
issues which have implications for Revelstokians and I have had a full
slate of meetings.
On Tuesday, Council and
Regional Director, Loni Parker reviewed the report of the evaluation
committee regarding the requests for Columbia Basin Trust funds. It is
always difficult to make these kinds of decisions because all of the
requests have value.
On Wednesday, we had back
to back meetings to review the preliminary plans for Grizzly Plaza
extension and to meet the consultant who will be proceeding with the
preparation of the Mt. Mackenzie Ski Hill Master Development Plan. We are
very pleased that this project is moving to the next stage.
On Thursday I attended the
regular Columbia Shuswap Regional District meeting in Salmon Arm.
Revelstoke citizens will be paying less to the regional district this year
because of deductions in some projected budgets, for example, 911 costs.
Please support the Canadian
Cancer Society’s “Relay for a Friend” by getting a team of 12 persons
together to take part on May 25, 2002. If you can’t take part, support a
team with your pledge for the Canadian Cancer Society
