[ARCHIVED] Public Works - Winter Reminders

PW-Winter Messaging-Shoveling and Sidewalks

Public Works' Winter Reminders: Shoveling & Sidewalk Clearing - Placing snow on the travelled portion of the roadway is not permitted under the City's Traffic and Highways Bylaw and is a ticketable offense. This regulation helps to ensure potentially dangerous situations for motorists are avoided. And please remember, residents and business owners are responsible for keeping the sidewalks clear of snow and ice (pursuant to Bylaw #1400, 1992). City staff aim to assist as much as possible and grit boxes are available in the downtown area for public use. As winter continues, the City appreciates the community's involvement in "Knowing the Snow" and supporting the snow removal process. Stay warm, healthy and safe!
