[ARCHIVED] Winter Snow Tips

Sidewalks

Now that the snow is falling, City Staff along with Bylaw Enforcement Officers would like to remind residents of the following conditions:

  • PLACING SNOW ON ROADWAY: In the interest of accident prevention the City wishes to remind you that placing snow on the roadway is not permitted.
  • PARKING VEHICLES ON ROADWAY’S OR SIDEWALK’S: A reminder that vehicles can only be parked for 24 hours at a time. A parked vehicle obstructing snow removal operations does not fall under these guidelines and will be towed.
  • NO PARKING ZONES: Drivers, please note ‘No Parking’ signs will be enforced throughout the winter months at the below listed addresses for snow removal purposes:

  • Viers Crescent
  • Seymour Place
  • Greely Crescent
  • Corbin Place
  • Jade Place
  • Echo Place

  • SIDEWALKS: A reminder that if you have a sidewalk bordering your property it is the property owner’s responsibility to clear the ice and snow off of the sidewalk. This includes downtown businesses. City crews will assist property owners, when possible, with clearing deep snow and sanding of sidewalks, ultimately the responsibility rests with the property owner.

Please note: Non-compliance of the above-noted matters is a ticket-able offence.

Thank you for your continued cooperation during the winter season.
