Effective at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 7, 2017 and until further notice, all Special Occasion Fires are banned in the City of Revelstoke.

Special occasion fires include private yard fires as well as campfires/pit fires.

This fire ban has been implemented by the Fire Chief in conjunction with the campfire ban issued by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, Southeast Fire Centre.

The fire hazard rating for Revelstoke and surrounding area is currently classified as extreme danger with further hot and dry weather forecasted.
