[ARCHIVED] Emergency Water Restrictions - Big Eddy Water District

The Big Eddy Water District is currently under emergency water restrictions due to the failure of a second well pump. The City is assisting the water district with installing a replacement pump that was sourced from the Okanagan, as well as working on backup plans in the event that the pump does not match the well requirements.

Director of Engineering and Development Mike Thomas stated, "We are pleased to be able to assist the Big Eddy, we have a great relationship with the Board and utility operator, and our aim is to have full water supply back in operation as soon as possible for the Big Eddy".

The City asks Big Eddy residents and businesses to restrict water use to essential uses only in accordance with the Big Eddy's request, this will maintain water availability for fire protection and extend the available storage if the problem persists. The City recommends that water is not used for watering lawns or gardens, washing cars or driveways, and suggest that shower times and bath use be limited.

Thank you, an update to be provided tomorrow.
