The City of Revelstoke is inviting proposals for the Police-Based Victim Services Program Manager on a contractual basis commencing October 1, 2011 to April 30, 2012, with two, one year renewal options, subject to continued funding of the Victim Services Program by the Province of British Columbia.

Services to be provided in this contract include overall administration of the program, recruiting and training new volunteers, supervising and supporting current volunteers, case management and liaising with the RCMP, Interior Health Authority, community agencies and the general public. For clarity, the contract is primarily to recruit and oversee volunteers that provide assistance to victims of crime. This contract is not for the provision of direct counseling services by the contractor.

The successful contractor will posses a clear knowledge of the criminal justice system and victim service issues. Previous management experience will be considered an asset. A university degree or certificate/diploma in a related field is desirable, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful contractor will be required to obtain and maintain the Revelstoke RCMP enhanced security clearance.

SEALED PROPOSALS clearly marked "PROPOSAL - VICTIM SERVICES PRGRAM MANAGER" and addressed to the attention of Teresa LeRose, Deputy Director of Corporate Administration, City of Revelstoke, will be received at City Hall, 216 Mackenzie Avenue, Box 170, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0 no later than 2:00 p.m. local time, on Friday, August 26, 2011. The City of Revelstoke reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals and to waive informalities in any proposal.
