The City of Revelstoke is proposing amendments to the City’s “OFF LEASH AREAS” maps. The proposed changes includes increasing the overall size of the “OFF LEASH AREAS”, dedicating the greenbelt area from Centennial Park to the new pedestrian bridge as “ON LEASH”, and dedicating the Big Eddy Dyke and Greenbelt paved trails as “ON LEASH”. The new aerial view maps make it clear which areas are considered “OFF LEASH AREAS”. The maps are available for viewing at the City Planning Department and online by following the link below. These changes are proposed to help bring the “OFF LEASH AREAS” in balance with community values that include the protection of environmentally significant areas and a citizen’s right to trails that minimize the potential for conflict with dogs.
The City is looking forward to your input regarding the proposed amendments and welcomes comments until Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Email comments can be sent to cfloyd@revelstoke.ca.
A public information meeting with regards to the proposed changes will take place on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Community Centre.
