Delegations to Council

Appearing before Council as a Delegation Instructions and Information
Council welcomes delegations to appear before Council or a Committee. The purpose of a delegation is to provide information to Council or a Committee in order to assist Council in making good decisions on behalf of the Community. Delegations are not meant to enhance an application.
Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. Committee of the Whole meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. Please refer to the City Meeting Calendar on this website for the actual dates.
A written submission must be filed with the Corporate Officer before 10:00 a.m, on the Monday the week before the scheduled Council Meeting at the latest (ie: 8 days prior to the meeting date). There is no guarantee the submission will be accepted for the next agenda, so the sooner the request is received, the sooner it will be scheduled.
The submission must include:
- Subject matter to be discussed
- Name(s) of the person(s) who will address Council
- All handouts or digital presentations, including speaking notes
This information will be included in the agenda and provides Council with an opportunity to consider the issue before the meeting in order to make an informed decision.
Please note that specific requests will not be considered at the time of a delegation, a formal request addressed to Council with details respecting the ask should be submitted to corporate@revelstoke.ca for inclusion as Correspondence on a future Council agenda.
Delegations are permitted up to 10 minutes for presentations. Council members may ask questions after the presentation for clarification.
