After School Program

The City of Revelstoke, Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is pleased to announce a new After School Program initiative in the community. This program will have 10 full time spots available for children ages 7-10 years old from October – June. Program preference is for those who need full time after school care for the entire school year.

Program Details

The program will run Monday through Friday, 3:00pm-5:00pm, with the exception of statutory holidays and Christmas break. It will be hosted here at the Community Centre, with possible outdoor adventures when the weather cooperates! We are lucky to be able to utilize all the different features of our facility for this program including the dance studio, kitchen, MP rooms and the pool. This enables us to host a variety of fun learning adventures with this interactive program. Every Friday will be swim day so be sure to pack a swimsuit, towel, goggles and bag for wet items.

We are currently taking registration for this school year (2017/2018). The cost of the program is based on $15/day, with full monthly payments due by the 20th of the month prior. When you register, you will have your payment plan set up at the front desk and we will be able to provide you with a copy of this payment plan.

Registrations for next school year (2018/2019) will open in February 2018.

Additional Registration Options

Although the afterschool program runs daily from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, we recognize the need for PRO-D day activities. At the time of registration, you can choose to also sign up for the PRO-D days that take place throughout the year:

October 20th  -  November 10th  -  February 23rd  -  May 4th   -  June 29th

On these days we will have a full day option from 8:30am-4:30pm, for a $45 fee.

We also have a spring break option. You can register your child for one week or both weeks, 8:30am-4:30pm, for an additional fee of $200 per week. You can book these options at the time of registration.

Our new kid’s program instructor, Stacey Thomas, is very excited to be a part of the new after school program here in Revelstoke. Stacey grew up in Brisbane, Australia, where she was involved for about 12 years in programming fitness and children’s activities. In 2015, Stacey was the gymnastics specialist at an American summer camp for 5 to 16 year olds in New York State, before moving to Canada in September of the same year. We welcome Stacey and look forward to a successful new program!
