Education

School district 19 administers educational programs at its three elementary schools and Revelstoke Secondary. School District 93 Francophone Education Authority of BC operates L'ecole des Glaciers. A leading-edge community learning centre and Okanagan College feature a variety of courses for personal enrichment, career development, and upgrading skills.

Health Care

Health care is available at Queen Victoria Hospital’s modern medical centre, the Public Health Unit, Selkirk Medical Clinic and Dr. Laura Cruise Medical Clinic. Additional local services can be found at RevelstokeLife.ca.

Other City Services

Comprehensive city services include law enforcement, a professional fire department, extended care and home services for the elderly, plus a variety of family and social services.

Culture

An active cultural enclave entertains Revelstoke throughout the four seasons. A theatre company, community band, visual and performing artists, and concerts draw enthusiastic crowds. An art gallery and several museums make for an exciting cultural environment enhanced by mountain ambiance.

Recreation and Parks

Families, teens, and retirees have many activities and programs to choose from at the city’s arena and curling rink, ski hill, golf course, tennis courts, Aquatic Centre, Community Centre, and library. There is an active senior centre, and organized sports and service organizations encourage involvement for all ages. With two national parks in the city’s backyard, nearby provincial campgrounds, and spectacular Lake Revelstoke just a 10-minute drive away, residents can enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, bird watching, boating, and of course, the fresh mountain air.
